About

JOW Office is led by Joshua Jow. Born to immigrant parents in Texas, he learned the value of craft and detail at an early age working at his family’s restaurant. This creative impulse has informed his journey from woodworking and artist studios to international architecture firms in New York. Leading multi-disciplinary design teams, he has completed projects for residential developers, universities, and cultural institutions. He combines a deep knowledge of building and façade systems with a practiced eye for composition, proportion, and materiality. His work is rooted in helping organizations link design thinking to their missions.

In addition to his professional work, Joshua is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Spitzer School of Architecture at CUNY. His academic research focuses on multi-family housing and the environmental impacts of adaptive reuse.

Joshua holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a licensed architect in the state of New York.
